As expected, the nail's head is met in your writing. I can absolutely relate to your wish for elation at being vaccinated. I too am grateful and relieved to not fear a respirator and lonely, generic and statistical death. I can only envy your garden as form of release, structure or escape. When the old normal wasn't that great and the new one is still fraught with uncertainty...the point between is a limbo that defies proper definition. And having a teen myself, I absolutely share your feelings -- they get all the curiosity and double the anxiety and none of the mileposts in the road we recognize. Thank you for capturing a bit of that feeling so well.
